Why should an organization create an RFP even if few vendors compete for a project?

Companies have fewer and fewer resources to allocate to deciding to buy a product or
service, so it appears more important to buy and implement a purchase to do it and move on to the next task. But remember that an RFI/RFP is not just a purchase. It is an opportunity to learn what works or does not work in your team's existing flow.
There may be tasks done manually that could be updated or even removed. Having your RFI sent out to vendors can review your organization's current procedures and show you weaknesses that can be implemented. While you may know all the nuances of your steps there, having a fresh set of eyes is always good.
